Outdoor Adventures

The luxury of attending a homeschool preschool group like Learning Bug is the amount of outside time we have. We spend 7 months of the year fully outdoors and often times we sleep outdoors (not everyday). During the winter we spend up to 2 hours outside everyday.

What do we do outside all day….Simple we are exploring and playing. Our maestras (teachers) set up different provocations (activities) in the playground and outdoor classroom everyday. Our students interested are first observed and associated with a play schema and then a provocation is developed based on those observations. We then set up a provocation that is child focused and open ended that will help our students to learn naturally.

Provocation: cooking with flowers, leaves, and rocks.
